“Give me that verse that pierces the veil of the Invisible”(Sara Bini)
Versione italiana La via della poesia per Sara Bini
Writing poetry was one of my first channels of expression. My texts, after all, are nothing but 'variations on a theme': the development and elaboration of a recurring motif: the journey within oneself, the intimate listening to the voice of one's soul.
CHILDHOOD FRIEND
Earth do not separate
what Heaven has united
Smell of ditch water
You and I
we fished salamanders
and imaginary worlds
When - Not me
Who - Not you
Thousands of lives
only
one Soul
Not I
Nor you
Simply
Us
Smell
of water
of ditch
And the Earth does not separate
what Heaven unites
Poetry has been to all intents and purposes an initiatory path. It is an alchemical process of transmutation of the negative, refinement of perception, transfiguration of the world.
Fairy Tale
Tower of Green Jade.
So begins the story
turning to fairy tale
She was the most restless
and wonderful of them all
No one like Senja
Soul of green stone
Flexuous
Oblique
Herself
yet someone
else
They belonged each other
but they took her away
Then followed other women
No one like Senya
Heart of green stone
He had her and then he lost her
The fairies took her off
Time flies in the Tower
and flows
the blood
down flows
*****
One day again he saw her
Appearing from the stairs
Something that you’ll never
be able to forget
‘Thousand miles I went
and now
here I am
Yet it seems a second”
Where were you-who weren’t there?
Soundless question
footsteps on the stairs
You’re
the one
who makes my blood
move
Come back to sing out
the last enchanting tune
Oblique
Flexuous
Herself
yet someone
else
Different and the same
for the last enchantment
Sing
Senja
Sing
Don’t turn your head – go on
“You’re
the one
who makes my blood
flow”
For the last enchanting song
Ahead
it’s only
love
In some of the lyrics, I also attempt to translate into words the positive, the achievements of an inner journey that celebrates a renewed gaze on Reality, a renewed capacity to understand, to serve, to love. To make poetry thus becomes 'crystallising', that is, making stable and precious a harmonious state of consciousness, which is mostly occasional, a sort of short-lived 'electrocution'. An example of this soul crystal is my poem 'Tulips', where these flowers, on the balcony, become the objective correlative of a 'peace that surpasses all thought’.
TULIPS
No music
in this house
Singable silence.
Beyond ev’ry saying
the heart’s
to be found
And it rains.
Tulips
by the window-pane
Generally, my lyrics have a germ cell that springs from experience, from an encounter with things, people or myself. I write down this glimmer of infinity, the first thought, as soon as possible, which is jealously guarded. As if by magic, it begins to vibrate and aggregates, by force of attraction, similar frequencies. This is how my poetry is born.
May Rain
Flowers on the road
May rain
Yesterday it was lightning
and dripping water
"I like fog"
-that's what you said?
at the tables of a café
It was one of our yesterdays
Fades to the north:
roses on the road.
May rain
pouring
pouring
