This song describes the uncomfortable state of being put 'on hold' by another person's lack of clarity or interest.

It can be a relationship, as well as a project, that is struggling to get off the ground because we are dealing with an indecisive or unconvinced partner. We feel that we have done our 50% of the work, while the other does not move, or only pays lip service. In some cases, the same relationship or the same project is not even mentioned anymore.

All this extinguishes our enthusiasm, our love or creative flame, feelings stagnate and everything becomes very tepid and unmotivating. The other person will certainly have all his reasons and resistance, even humanly shareable. However, he or she lacks the fire, the spark needed to ignite and give life to the relationship or project in a concrete and mature way.

What to do? The second verse of the song suggests to 'drop the bone', that is, the character who is now more of a hindrance than a help, and rely on one's own strength. I understand that it is not an easy choice, especially if feelings and emotions are involved, but deluding ourselves that a person will change for us condemns us to an eternal stalemate - similar to the lockdowns that our rulers have been lovingly administering for quite some time.

After all, if a person does not make clear moves, it may already be, in fact, a declaration of loss of interest in us or in our shared project. He may also have arrived or come into contact with his own limits and blocks, so he has every right to manage them as he sees fit, without pressure from us.

So let's gather our strength, let's regain possession of the energies invested in the other and let's use them instead to get out of limbo, to get self-fulfilled and self-realized.
